December 8th to 10th, 2012

Saturday we were Disney bound!
Super excited to be in Disney World on our Make-a-Wish trip! Our local Make-a-Wish volunteers came to our house a couple of weeks ago and gave us all of our materials and went over things with us, but its nothing like the real thing. We flew down via Airtran that works with Make-a-Wish, and then they had a rental car reserved and we got to pick out our midsize SUV for the week. From there, we drove maybe 25 minutes to the Give Kids The World Village. So AMAZING! We have a two bedroom villa complete with washer and dryer and everything. The village works exclusively with wish-granting organizations for children. The whole place has a Santa's village, Candy Land, Dr. Seuss like theme to it. Pictures to come soon! All of our meals here are free, there is all the free ice cream you can eat and they will even deliver a pizza to your villa; they deliver a few other meals too. The village itself has games, rides, two pools and provides lots of fun activities for the kids. For example, they do horse-back riding one morning every week in Keaton's Corral and every Monday night they have a Halloween party on the Avenue of Angels! The village is about 15 minutes from the Magic Kingdom and in the middle of all of the good stuff. First things first, they gave Clayton a Mickey, he was so excited. Then at orientation Saturday night, we got three day hopper passes to the Disney parks, two day hopper passes to the Universal parks and one day passes to Sea World; all with complimentary parking.
Saturday night we hung out in the village, ate dinner here, got some ice cream, explored a little bit and soaked it all in. One building is the Amberville train station and Clayton loves it! There is a train you can ride and then there is a huge model train village. And they have boats you can drive around a little pond. Then there is Dino Put-Put, the Jungle Safari Theater, Butterfly Garden, Katie's Kitchen, Ice Cream Parlor, Castle of Miracles- complete with built in tree house-, Gingerbread house, giant game of Candy Land, pool and crazy water feature area for kids, and there is more we haven't even seen yet. So lots to do here alone! And guess what the Mayor's name is? Clayton...yep, Mayor Clayton ;) he's a rabbit.
Sunday we started at Epcot and then went to Disney's Hollywood Studios figuring they would have the least to do and we would start him out slow. He wasn't interested in anything at Epcot but Mickey. He did so good with Mickey and Minnie. He was scared of Pluto, Woody and Buzz though. At Hollywood Studios the main thing we thought he would enjoy was the Pixar Pals Parade and Disney Junior Live... He had mixed feelings about both. I think on his first day, he was tired and a little overwhelmed. That night he actually fell asleep at 5pm and slept until 7:30 am the next morning! Tired little booger.
Then today, we spent the whole day at the Animal Kingdom...love it! Clayton saw the Finding Nemo Musical, the Lion King show and did the Kilimanjaro Safari...plus we walked around the whole darn park. Good day. But it is all leading up to tomorrow....
The Magic Kingdom! Followed by more Magic Kingdom with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tomorrow night. Lots-o-fun-to-be-had!
Clayton is doing really good with everything so far. We have to watch him and be sure he doesn't get to hot. Thankfully the Animal Kingdom has tons of shade and the Magic Kingdom has a private lounge for Give Kids The World kids. And tonight he was playing in the heated pool here at the village...he couldn't get enough. He is a water baby for sure!

...and there is a gift fairy that comes to our villa every day while we are out and leaves a surprise!

More soon!
