OK. So Clayton is in pre-op now. They are going to repeat the cystoscopy since they have better equipment than Mobile and see what they find. They are also going to be prepared to take measures to resolve things. The consent I had to sign included the possible use of four or five different measures to try and resolve the bleeding. We have now talked to everybody the doctors, anesthesiologist and nurses...just waiting to go back...
My mom pointed out I made a mistake in an old post about the size of the lesion seen in Clayton's bladder. I put dimed size, but meant quarter sized. Here is the thing to understand: Because they are able to counteract Clayton's blood loss with transfusions, he has been OK for now, but because of the amount of blood loss he is having everyday, they have to take more aggressive measures to get the situation under control. For example, yesterday morning his hemoglobin was 9.2 and by yesterday afternoon/early evening it was 7.6 or 7.4. I have no idea what they are going to do until they call up from the OR to check in and let me know.
