Never a dull moment in Clayton Land. The catheter came out this morning around 8:30. And for a few hours everything was fine. He had a couple of diapers that had bloody urine and then he had this:

The oncologist was right there when we found it too. He had just come in to tell us their plan. So much for that... Clayton did not let on at all that he had been passing those clots. It's crazy to imagine.
So good news bad news from all of this...
The bad news is that his bladder is still bleeding and does not seem to want to stop. You can see where this could be a problem. It is bleeding enough that while Clayton has started to hold his hemoglobin and platelets better, it is still causing those numbers to drop at times. Dr. Terry says the quarter sized legion he saw in Clayton's bladder is quite curious. The problem is he literally does not have up-to-date equipment here to investigate it further. So he had already suggested that after we got the bleeding under control we talk with NYC or Birmingham about investigating it further. He does not know what to make of the spot and says since it does not seem to be healing on its own, then they may want to consider cutting it out in NYC. However, when we get there and they investigate, they will decide what they want to do.
The good news is that we are still going to NYC and Dr. La Quaglia, that resected Clayton's tumor, will be the one to investigate the issue further. As I'm sure you caught on, we have complete confidence in Dr. La Quaglia, so I'm am very happy to being going to see them. We are also relieved that Clayton does not seem to be in any discomfort when he passes these clots.
Now we are waiting to hear our flight schedule tomorrow...
